This week I had the privilege to speak with Sara Del Campo De Gonzalez. She is a pediatrician, wife, mom, and runner. We had a great discussion about what it means to take time for yourself, making time for your kids, and guilt. We also talk about missed races and new goals.
We spend some time talking about the Young Children's Health Center, where she works and the amazing balance of medical and social work practice they accomplish to meet the needs of the people in the community where they are. It really sounds like an amazing place to work and I think we could do with more places like it in New Mexico and across the country in general.
We also spend some time talking Covid-19, how it's effected the community she serves, and the vaccines. It was an informative talk and worth a listen.
We also talk about her run streak, which I think is a great accomplishment that can easily fits the needs of anyone interested in trying it for themselves. I hope you gain something from this episode.
I know things can feel bleak now, but try and focus on the things you can control, like going for a run, taking care of yourself and your family, and making time to smile. We will get through this together, so wear a mask, be someone's joy, and as always, keep running, New Mexico.
